This is where President Clinton would stay when he was in town - the man has good taste. This is a historic hotel with such charm. There are David Chihuli glass displays in the lobby. The hotel calls itself "a work of art" and this is really true; they carry that theme through the entire hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated and each has it's own "work of art" - some have original paintings, others have little sculptures. The Alexis is part of the Kimpton hotel group - by far my favorite group of hotels. (The Monaco and the Vintage Park are also Kimpton properties.) No one does upscale and unique as well as Kimpton. http://www.judysbook.com |
